Serving Others"Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done" - Proverbs 19:17
Serving others here, near and far away…
Serving others is a fundamental aspect of life here at Baker Memorial UMC. We have many opportunities, including the following:
Our Prayer Quilt Ministry seeks to envelop someone in need in God’s loving arms and prayers—literally. A quilt is made for a specific person. Whether you can sew, iron, cut fabric with a rotary cutter, or sort fabric we need help during our upcoming quilting days in Wiley Hall. Quilting day is the fourth Wednesday of the month from 10 am until noon. If you can sew, bring a small portable sewing machine with you. Irons and ironing boards will be furnished.
Come on out and participate in this very rewarding ministry! Enter through 3rd Avenue entrance.
During our Day Guest meals, our staff joins for fellowship and community building over lunch. Baker Memorial serves lunch on Tuesday and Thursday to the under-served in St. Charles. Please consider signing up to provide a meal and join the fellowship. You can do that via the meal train, or emailing the program coordinator Judy Schlarb at email@example.com to volunteer.

Every second Tuesday of the month, Baker members provide meals for nearby Lazarus House homeless shelter. The entire dinner is cooked and then taken to the shelter. Other members sign up to provide bag lunches. To get connected to the monthly sign up and dinner donation needs, contact the church office at firstname.lastname@example.org.
A team of volunteers heads to the Northern Illinois Food Bank on the third Monday of every month. Our shift runs from 9 am until Noon. Contact the church office, email@example.com, for more information.
