Middle & High School

"Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity." - 1 Timothy 4:12

Come join us!

Baker Memorial UMC offers many opportunities for youth to be involved in the life of the church and grow in their faith. Activities throughout the year involve: ReCharge groups for middle and high schoolers, 4th Sunday events, service opportunities, a mission trip, Retreats, and Confirmation classes.

August Mission Trip

We are so excited to be planning our first mission trip in two years! This year we will be serving NEAR when thinking about Baker Memorial’s “Here, Near, and Far Away” web of service opportunities, with the Midwest Mission Distribution Center in Pawnee, IL. Since 2000, Midwest Mission has provided disaster relief supplies and educational, medical, and business assistance to those in need and is one of eight cooperating depots in the UMCOR network.

Our Mission trip will begin August 2 with our caravan leaving Baker Memorial around 1pm. We will serve on August 3 & 4 in various capacities at the Midwest Mission Distribution Center depending upon abilities and availability. Service projects might include packing relief, dignity, and/or school kits, sorting items, building desks, repairing bicycles and sewing machines, loading and unloading supplies, and whatever needs arise at the time! August 5 we have a day of fun before heading back to St. Charles.

Support the Mission Trip!

If you are not attending the Mission Trip, we invite you to be included through your prayers and/or a financial donation. This is a wonderful way to participate behind the scenes.

ReCharge: Youth

ReCharge is a time to be able to connect with God and one another for a renewed sense of energy, encouragement, and spiritual growth. Students meet on Sundays August-May at 10:30am to watch a video, discuss relevant topics in small group, pray, play games and build community.

Each 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th Sunday at 10:30am, we will have a space and time for the Middle School and High School to each have their own groups to ReCharge.

During ReCharge, the youth will have a relevant scriptural topic with a lesson, small group discussion time, prayer, and community building.

We will be using Orange XP3 Curriculum. Orange connects the Church and the Family, so there will also be parent resources. It is important to team together to be recharged on a consistent basis.

Summer ReCharge Begins July 10
Look for summer ReCharge to begin July 10 at 10:30am. Sunday Fun Day is for kids of all ages. Come have fun while learning about God in creative ways!

4th Sunday Event

On the 4th Sundays, August through May, at 10:30am, we have special events planned that build community, serve, and have fun. Each month there is a different theme. As with all BakerYouth programs, youth are encouraged to invite friends. This is one way to include others. Registrations are required for these events.

Registration - Release Form

This year we have one Registration/Release form for your whole family. Please download the form, fill it out and bring it with you to Recharge or hand it to or email it to Pastor Kim or Shelly Stienbarger.
